Rachael + Phil’s Wedding in Groby, Leicestershire
Two years ago I took some photographs of a lovely, totally-in-love couple in Queens Park, Loughborough. Last year they told me they were getting married and asked me to be their photographer! I just knew it would be an amazing wedding and below are the photos that tell the story of their fabulous day. The wedding took place in the pretty little village of Groby in Leicestershire where Rachael grew up. The day was full of fun, laughter and happiness with an English Fete held in the gardens of Groby Old Hall complete with Rubber Duck Fishing, Bunting and Lots of Cake!
Oh and look out for a bride on a bouncy castle!!
The fact that the heavens opened just as we started the Bride and Groom photos turned out to be a blessing in disguise as Rachael’s family friends who live in the Old Hall came to the rescue and let us use their beautiful home where we took some stunning photos including one with a guest appearance from their great Dane! The rain stopped so we did get get a few outside shots too including some with the wedding car – a VW camper van that sported an incredible array of decorations including a bonnet covered in photos of the couple.
The Village Hall had been transformed with bunting the night before and as Rachael and Phil entered everyone jumped up and cheered! Feasting and merriment followed with the first dance being a raucous Barn Dance number which involved a lot of galloping and twirling! Soon everyone had joined in and pretty much didn’t stop!
I completely fell in love with Rachael’s delicate flower crown – yellow and purple and So pretty!
Not a faint – hearted lad, Phil decided to have a wet shave on the morning of his wedding – I was glad Dave was photographing this part as I don’t think I could have beared to watch!
I love the dress next to this mural by a teenage Rachael, now she’s all grown up and getting married!!
Well done Dave, I love this shot of the expectant Groom on his wedding morning!
So Dave got a bit over excited and took rather a lot of moody steam iron shots but I’ll only subject you to one of them!
What a wonderful use of a Cake Stand!
The best ‘Bunting Cake’ I have seen yet!
Oh yes!
Can you spot the teddy bear?
I love this one, Rachael you made such a beautiful bride!
Let the feasting begin!
Yum Yum Yum!!
Bride and Groom Daleks – Genius!
Rachael made these fab little figures!
Such a cool idea, a ‘photo-bonnet’ ! The couple got to keep it afterwards too!So you seem to be floating on air in this one Rachael, do you think that Phil may have something to do with that!!!
As you can see there was some pretty fine barn dancing going on – these guys knew how to do a mean do si-do!
